Canada's South

Carolinian Canada

Carolinian Canada is a belt of land in southern Ontario along Lake Erie and part of Lake Ontario. About 25% of Canada's population lives in this area. Now, it is largely urban areas, farmland and fragments of forest.

Although the plants and animals that live here can also be found in the United States, many of them cannot be found anywhere else in Canada. For example, opossums and cacti can be found here. Point Pelee, the southern-most point in Canada, is further south than parts of northern California.
