Scouting with Scouting Ireland, (C.S.I) ... An Invitation to Adventure.


"The aim of the scouting movement is to help young people develop physically, intellectually, socially, spitirually and culturally so that they may take a constructive place in society as mature adults".

Scouting is a non political educational movement for young people, open to all who are prepared to accept and live the Scout Promise and Law, with more than 16 Million members in 150 countries worldwide.

Scouting Ireland (C.S.I.) , our national organisation, operates in all 32 counties of Ireland (N.Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) and is open to all Boys and Girls of all religious denominations.

It was founded as C.B.S.I. in 1927 by two catholic priests Fr. Tom Farrell and his brother Fr. Ernest Farrell.

Scouting members worldwide apply the scouting method which includes:
  • A commitment to a code of living
  • Learn by doing
  • Use of small groups working together under youth leadership
  • Adult assistance and guidance
  • Progressive and stimulating programmes
  • Membership divided into four separate age groupings
