Doyle Park, June 21, 1997 Santa Rosa, CA 28 pitchers (2 stood out to make 1 morning group)
Next Tournament:The C.E. Dubs Open. 7/12/1997. See you there! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From the President, Ed Loranger: This tournament was in honor of 2nd Vice President, Charlie Nader. Charlie was temporarily subdued by the applause, and gratefully accepted his tournament sanction certificate -- suitable for framing. -Ed Loranger We had ok attendance (28). The temperature was nice, about 75 Degrees at 10 AM, peaking to about 82 Degrees at 1:PM. Due to conflicting tournaments, i.e. Fortuna, and the upcoming Rogue River, tournout was lighter than normal. Slim Parnell, Vallejo club, informed us that Frank Westbrook, Vallejo club, passed away recently. Frank was an excellent individual and idolized his you son. I personally will dearly miss Frank, may he rest in peace. The club thanks those members who came up north to come visit us and we hope to return the favor soon. I want to thank Don Smalley for volunteering to run the tourny, his first shot as tournament director. Don made good use of the web information provided on the club webpage. Running a tournament can be stressful -- But Don survived! Thanks Don, and hope you can do it again! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Activities by Tournament Director, Don Smalley:
I would like to welcome you all to the Charlie Nader Open.
