Grandma Browns Sour Cream Cookies

Used Since 1921

2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
Blend these two ingredients together.
Add-
1 cup sour cream
3 small or 2 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 rounded teaspoons baking powder
5 cups flour

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Mix all ingredients together. You may the roll the dough and cut into individual cookies
or drop by spoonsful and press flat. A damp cloth on the bottom of a glass cup works well.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
Can be eaten warm or let cool.
