Budapest, July 9th ,1999

The show was tranferred to another stadium.
We go there and there are not so many people waiting yet (it's 2 hours before the gates will be opened). We sit down and wait.
More waiting.
Waiting.
More people. We stand up so nobody gets in front of us.
Come on, please open the gates, it's already past 5.
We are let in, the tickets are checked and everybody runs like crazy. Up the stairs, down the stairs of the stadium. Damn, where's the entrance to the standing area? There it is, we run across the field until we hit the stage. Yeah, second row!
Cool.
More waiting.
The first band, an Hungarian band, starts playing at 6:30 or something. They're pretty good but it's so loud, my head gets dizzy already. My feet hurt from standing around so much.
Song after song, when will they finish???
Set change.
Another Hungarian band!
Man, they suck.
I am so tired.
Next are Deus. Those guys are .... interesting! It's like they don't fit to each other. But I know, after them there will be R.E.M.. They say, they're gonna play two more songs. Yeah, finally!
Set change.
Pushing, fighting, it's hot, it's sweaty, it's horrible.
Lights go on, they're HERE!!!!!
The crowd goes wild! "Only the strong survive"...
Michael says "have you ever seen the rain?"
Lotus rocks on. Great, what a difference to every other band!!!
Man, they rock.
My boys.
I am not tired anymore, it's not too loud anymore.
Sometimes it's so hard to keep standing up cause everyone's pushing.
I can't breathe, it's hard to enjoy the music but then it gets a little better.
The guys from the security are very busy all the time with pulling fainted fans out of the crowd, over our heads.
They're spraying cold water into our faces so we get cooled.
It's really crazy. A madhouse.
R.E.M. are great.
Michael looks at me, he smiles and he waves. I wave back. I love you!
After a song, somewhere close to the end of the show, a security guy has something in his hands that he wants to give me, I open my hand and it's that thing you use on the strings for playing the (sorry, I don't know the name for that) and on it is written "Mr. Meat Science". The guy who gave it to me points at Mike. So Mike must have given that to him to hand it out to me!!!!!

I can't believe it!
Michael says "Thank you very much , we enjoyed playing here and we will come back...if.....IF the world hasn't come to the end..."
IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT- the last song.
Michael sings "Time I need some time alone" and he comes down to the crowd with the microphone, a girl just screams, that stupid thing, he comes over to me, he wants to give the mirco to me but everyone wants to grab Michael so he lifts it up until I get it and I sing and it is great.
Oh boy.
We are so wet and so happy when we leave. We have to have that again.
Again and again.
Boys, you rock.
