From Myers Flat you coninue North on US 101 to the Jct of SR 299 in Arcata. It is a good road all the way. At Arcata turn East on SR 299. There are a couple of passes between Arcata & Willow Creek, but nothing serious. From Willow Creek to Big Flat the road is a 2 lane road that twists along the Trinity River. Not a bad road, but a little slow.

From Big Flat you continue East on SR299 to Redding. There are two Passes, Oregon Summit and Buck Horn Summit but they are not too bad. The road up Oregon Summit is long and you will want to gear down. The road down Buck Horn Summit is long and winding and once again you want to gear down. At Redding you pick up SR 44 into Old Station. A good 2 lane road with no major hills.

The drive from Old Station to Susanville is in my opinion one of the more scenic drives in the state. The road is good with no major hills after you get out of Old Station. At Susanville you get on US395 South all the way to Carson City. At CC turn west on US 50 over Spooner Summit to South Lake Tahoe.
