Who Are We?
We are Brewster Pack 1 and we are part of the Muscoot District of the Westchester Putnam
Council of the B.S.A. Our charter organization is the Brewster
Rotary. Our Pack is made up of Cub Dens, a Pack Committee and your
Families. Pack meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, from September
thru May (unless notified otherwise), in the J.F.K. Cafateria. Meetings start promptly at 7:00 and end about 8:00. At least 1 parent or adult family member is required to attend all Pack
Meetings with each Cub. Den Meetings are determined by the Den Leaders.

Our Dens
The Dens are groups of 5-9 boys, broken up by grade level.
Tiger - Boys in 1st
grade
Wolf – Boys in 2nd
grade
Bear - Boys in 3rd grade
Webelos – Boys in
4th & 5th grade
Each den is run by
a Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader.
They meet on a weekly basis, at a time and place determined by the Den
Leaders. Leaders must be at least 21
years of age, and can be Male or Female.
Grandparents or Friends without active Cubs can also be great Den
Leaders. Parents are required to help
your Cubs follow the Cub Scout Program, as directed by the Leaders.

Our Pack Committee
The Pack Committee
is made up of all our Leaders, and interested parents. We meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month, in the J.F.K Cafeteria from
8:00 – 9:00 pm. We
discuss upcoming events and plan for the next Pack meeting. Parents are invited to attend these meetings
and bring any concerns or ideas to our attention. |

Uniforms
The boys of Pack 1
are required to wear their uniforms to Pack and Den Meetings, as well as all
other Scouting activities, unless otherwise directed. This uniform is know as their Class A uniform. Our Tiger/Cub uniforms consist of a Blue shirt,
Neckerchief, and Hat. Webelos wear the
Tan Boy Scout Shirt if desired. We also
encourage all Leaders to wear a uniform.
The uniform is a key part of Good Leadership and it is very important to
set a good example. Once a year the Pack will order tee shitrs with our
pack logo on them. These shirts can be worn as our Class B uniform.

Rank
The first step on the Cub Scout trail is to earn the BOBCAT badge. All new Cubs must earn this badge. Requirements for this rank are listed in every Rank book. Cubs continue to Wolf, Bear, Webelo and Arrow of Light trails. A new rank
is earned every year as the boys advance with their Dens. Tigers follow the Tiger trail and earn their Tiger badge in their first
year of scouting.
Den Leaders will tell you which Achievements and Electives they plan to
work on at the Den Meetings, and what the boys are expected to complete
at home.
You must sit down with your boys, review the requirements, and sign off
on them. The Leaders cannot do this
alone.

Cost / Fundraising
Pack Dues: $40.00 includes Boys Life Magazine subscription
Multi-Sibling Family considerations can be
made – Consult Cubmaster
Fundraisers: Pack 1 sells Christmas Wreaths as our primary fundraiser. We have been
selling these wreaths for more then 20 years and the families of Brewster
have come to expect them. They are very easy to sell. We also have a raffle
at every pack meeting which the boys enjoy very much and look forward to
every month.
Den Dues - Den leaders will decide if den dues are
required, and amount.

Signs UP !!
The Cub Scout “SIGN” is a very important part of scouting. It means “SILENCE”.
When a leader put
up the sign, he or she expects everyone in the room to show the sign, quite down and come to order. You all will soon understand how difficult it
is to keep order in at our Pack meetings.
PLEASE remember the meaning of this sign.
