Having done the track 6 times at different times of the year i am allways interested in the experiences of others and whether they enjoyed the track. Have noticed your picture of lake holmes is in fact lake windermere looking south. Hope you come again, i just can't stay away from the place. I would recommend the first two weeks in December as the best time to do the track.

you've back a lot of momories. My boyfriend and myself just traversed the western arthurs and descended moraine k back to scott's peak dam car park. We did it only over 4 days in the middle of winter, in July this year and loved it. We haven't even got al our photos back, can't wait too. We're moving to Tassie next year to get into the wilderness and see some more of Australia's beauty and follow some of your footsteps. thanks for sharing your experiences! good luck and all the best in the wilderness!

An impressive site! Don't forget you need a whistle in your equipment list in case you fall off a cliff and are too weak to call for help. This principle is demonstrated in a movie you may not have seen.
