The Mount Washington Hotel...... Your probably wondering why I would have a camping and hiking page and include on it the Mount Washington Hotel ????? .....

Well, it is a place you can stay and go day hiking. It is far from the fine comforts of your tent and holofil sleeping bag, but it is an experience. Have you ever had breakfast with a live 3 piece band? Have your ever been to the Cave?

They have tons of things. Horseback riding, golf, tennis, mountain bike trails, cross country ski trails (one of the best in the Whites), very large swimming pool, and many other activities. I love the feeling you get when you go to The Whites, that every thing is old. The old country stores with the creaky, never level floors. The Mount Washington Hotel is a very old hotel. It opened up in 1902. So it's centenial anniversary is coming up soon.

When I first saw the movie Shining I thought of the Mount Washington Hotel. We stayed only once. We plan to live it up one more time soon.

We usualy visit the hotel on the Fourth of July. We bring my dad to hear the band and see the fireworks display. The fire works display is better every year. It is truly one the best. The fire works in the gif (animation) were actually taken at the Mount Washington Hotel. The food and service there is excellent. The local people earn their living here
