Big Dog being awarded the Carp King Buckle from last years King, Carpaholic
The new Carp King and happiest guy in the world is John "BIGDOG" Goepper. BigDog landed a 22.8 lb
monster to beat out about 100 other anglers.
Gary Carp-On Gillis the New North American Carp Champion
Every past North American Carp Champion was present at the event (Lloyd
Wolverton, Bernie Haines, Todd Carlander, Tom Warndorf and Nigel Griffin).
Todd served as a steward but the others all fished but were all out-fished
by Gary Carp-On Gillis. The Champion is determined by the weight of the anglers 4
biggest fish, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but as I recall
Gary's total was a bit under 50lbs. This was without a doubt the toughest
field that has every fished the Classic and winning is a great
accomplishment.
