CAG Austin Texas Team Championship March 29 and 30, 2002



Challenge Rules:



The first CAG event ever to be held with a 2-man team format is being held March 29th and 30th, 2002.

The venue is Town Lake, a proven big fish lake. The event will be limited to 25 two-man teams and the entry deadline is February 10, 2002.

Rules:

Each two-man team may fish anywhere within half the distance of opposing team pegs, including pegs on the other side of the lake.

Each team must have 1 set of accurate scales to be checked/verified before the event begins.

Each team must have 1 net that provides a safe way to land fish. Nylon knotted nets will not be allowed.

Each team must have a well-padded unhooking mat and weigh sling.

6 rods per team

One hook per rod and no treble hooks allowed.

Fish must be weighed and then verified by opposing team member. Please return fish to the water promptly. Only one fish per sack if necessary.

Boats will be allowed. Fish cannot be played or landed with a boat. Boats may not go into other competitors swims.

If a fish is hooked before the competition ends there will be a 15-minute extension time limit allowed to land the fish.

Tournament Schedule:

Thursday evening at the Wellesley Inn corn boil/social starting around 6pm.

Friday morning 7am draw for pegs at the boat ramp parking lot east of I-35 (1 mile) in the Festival Beach Park area. Competition will begin at 8am and end at 8pm. Saturday you will be fishing the same previously drawn peg, competition will resume at 6am and end at 6pm. 8pm will be the awards presentation at a location to be announced.

All of the park rules must be observed.

Pre-fishing the week before in any area with designated pegs will not be allowed. Anyone seen not complying with this will disqualify his or her team from the competition and the entry fee will not be refunded. All participants are allowed to plumb and research the pegged swims.

If you would like to fish prior to the tournament we can recommend areas that will be permitted. Austin Lake has a campground (Emma Long) and is a very similar type of venue.

License are required, you may purchase them by phone at (800) 895-4248. A 5-day non-resident license is $20

Wellesley Inns and Suites (512) 326-0100 this is where we have reserved rooms for people to stay. The social/corn boil will be held here. It is located right on Town Lake. The price for a double room is $70. Please coordinate with other listed participants to split rooms and share costs.
