CAG Connecticut Fish-in June 1 - 2, 2002

This years Connecticut CAG fishin will be held in the state Capital of Hartford. The venue is the Charter Oak Landing on the Connecticut River. The spot is located on the west side of the river, just south of downtown Hartford, and is part if the new Riverfront Park system. There's lots of parking right at the river's edge, and enough fishable shoreline for dozens of anglers. There are portable toilets, water fountains, and picnic areas as well.

Park information is as follows:

-Park hours are dawn till dusk, usually 6amm- 9pm (depending on the mood of the "gatekeeper").
-No alcoholic beverages allowed (visibly annyway).
-A net with a long handle is helpful, theree is a 3-4 foot drop to the water in some places.
-Good water depth within easy casting distaance (15-20 foot in the channel). Back leads could proove useful (in case of boat traffic).
-The venue will be prebaited the week priorr to the fishin.
-Good carp population.

*** The river is tidal at this point, however CT freshwater fishing licenses are required. If assistance is needed aquiring licenses, please e-mail me ahead of time.
