Hello from Wisconsin!

Now that we’re out of the grip of old-man winter, time to get serious about fishing plans. The annual fish-in will be in Ft Atkinson August 3-4, 9-5 Sat and 9-noon Sun behind Lorman’s Centennial Park, S Water Street West. Don’t forget to bring your rain gear! On Fri the 3rd, the Café Carpe (18 S Water Street West), is having a special deal for dinner, drinks and music. Come on by for some socializing and perhaps a little night fishing. There are reasonable hotels and camping nearby.

If any one has spots with known big fish, let me know and we’ll try to get a Challenge going there.

Meanwhile on June 9th, 8-4, I’d like to try a Challenge in Sheboygan on the Riverfront of the Sheboygan River. What I do and think will work, is to fish off an empty charter boat pier. The carp are huge and very active there. If you have an idea that you might make this, call me a (262) 473-6729 or e-mail at byla@calshp.cals.wisc.edu and I’ll get more precise directions to you. No reason we can’t hold more than one and it would be nice to try some new waters.

In Ft Atkinson, Main street is 12 / 89. The Cafe Carpe is 118 S Water Street West. Go to the parking lot of Lorman's Centenial Park and walk down the paved road to the river.

The bank of the river venue is similar to CCC in that the water level is about 5 feet lower than the bank, cement edge (about 1.5 feet) and grass. The lake venue is pretty much "beach", gradual incline to the shore.

LICENSE:

License is $ 15 for 4 day non-resident...that's the minimum # of day type. And these can be obtained at the local Wal-Mart.

3 Rods are Allowed.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO CHUM IN WISCONSIN

ACCOMMODATIONS:

There are hotels nearby, campgrounds and of course floor and yard space available at the Byla shack.
