New Jersey Carp Anglers Group 2001 Fish-In
Raritan River

July 21st – 22nd 2001

This year’s venue will be the same as last year. The Raritan River in Raritan, NJ. See attached map for directions. Pretty straightforward. You want to be on Route 206, south of the Somerville Circle, which is the Princeton Exit from Route 287 for those of you traveling from the North. (From the South it’s Rt. 206 North of Princeton and Hillsborough). Old York Rd. will take you to Roberts Rd. on the left. Follow Roberts Rd. all the way round to the car park by the river. Take the path along the side of the river for about ten minutes; we’ll be fishing the beach area there.

Any swim along the path from the car park will have been baited up on the Friday night. I have never overnighted at this venue but I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be done. In fact I plan to stay over myself this year.

This is a fairly fast flowing river that’s only about 60-70 yards wide at this point. High rod tips are the order of the day here to avoid the leaves and branches etc, washing down the river. Maize worked well last year with the odd fish being taken on boilies. We will be pre-baiting with maize, cracked corn, trout pellet and sweet corn, so take your pick as far as hook baits go.

If we have any rain this place can get a little muddy so bring boots if you’ve got them.

This is not the free fishing weekend, unfortunately so you will need a NJ license. I think they are around $16 for the weekend. If you send me your information I will pick up the licenses and you may pay me at the venue. I need: Name, Address, SSN#, Height, Weight, Hair Colour, Eye Colour, and Date of Birth.

Any questions, give me a call (609) 279-0775. …………….. Bill D.
