Oklahoma CAG Sooner Carp Challenge and Fish In April 12, 13, 14, 2002



Challenge Rules:

If you are a CAG member you will receive a medal(Gold , Silver or Bronze) if you catch one of the three largest fish. Starting Time 6PM Friday 20th of April - Ending Time 10AM April 22nd --40 hours Drawing for Pegs will be at 3pm Friday Afternoon(you do not have to be present yours will be reserved until 9am Saturday). If you wish to fish another swim by trading with another angler or choose a swim that was not drawn(if available) that will be allowed. All swims must be finalized by the beginning of the competition. Entry forms may be submitted together for people who want to fish together and we will do our best to accommodate, although fishing consecutive swims is not guaranteed. There is also a Match style contest and Big Fish contest for an entry fee, the fee is ONLY for that part of the event, anyone can still participate without entering the paying competition. Deadline for entering the paying part of the event is April 15th, but everyone that wants to attend should notify David if they are coming so he can arrange for swims.

License:

If you would like to purchase a license in advance you can go to www.state.ok.us or (800)949-6392. Purchasing a license at a Wal-Mart while picking up last minute supplies should be no problem. The City of Hominy does require a permit but I will try and distribute those at the lake.

Accommodations:

For those of you not as "Hardcore" as others there are hotel accommodations about 15 minutes away. Bud Yancey usually stays at the Budget Z in Cleveland, Oklahoma (918)358-3591. Occupancy rates for a single $33 and Double $40. Camping is permitted at Hominy Lake. For those of you flying in to Tulsa please notify me ahead of time, if possible arrive Wednesday or Thursday afternoon and schedule departure flights Sunday early afternoon.

If you choose to only fish certain hours at your swim that is your choice, although all fish counted for the challenge must be landed from your designated swim 3 rods maximum to be fished at a time (for non-participants 7 rods are allowed) 1 hook per rod..no treble hooks!!!
Fish weight must be verified by a fellow angler... photos are encouraged.
Sacking a fish properly until dawn is fine..1 fish per sack please.
Spodding and other baiting methods are legal.
Bait Boats/Boats are not allowed during the competition.
