Wisconsin CAG Fish-In
August 7-8
Hello from Wisconsin!
For those of you interested, the WI CAG fish-in is Aug 7-8. A "biathlon"
event of river and lake venues. There is no fee and you don't have to be
a member to join in on the fun.
DATE/TIME:
Fishing from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Aug 7th, Rock River behind the Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson. And fishing from 7a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug 8th on Trippe Lake in Whitewater. There is no cost for this event.
On Sat evening the Cafe Carpe is having an open stage package deal for $8.
Beer, soda, hors d'oeuvres, entree from 6-7:30. At 8:30 music. This is an
open stage...any of you musical carp fishermen (like Mike K : )), bring
your instuments.
VENUES:
In Ft Atkinson, Main street is 12 / 89. The Cafe Carpe is 118 S Water Street West. Go to the parking lot of Lorman's Centenial Park and walk down the paved road to the river.
In Whitewater, stay on highway 12 heading East through town, turn onto S Wisconsin go about 2 blocks. There will be a cemetary on the Right. Trippe Lake is on your left, pull into the parking lot at the swimming area.
The bank of the river venue is similar to CCC in that the water level is
about 5 feet lower than the bank, cement edge (about 1.5 feet) and grass.
The lake venue is pretty much "beach", gradual incline to the shore.
LICENSE:
License is $ 15 for 4 day non-resident...that's the minimum # of day type. And these can be obtained at the local Wal-Mart.
3 Rods are Allowed.
IT IS ILLEGAL TO CHUM IN WISCONSIN
ACCOMMODATIONS:
There are hotels nearby, campgrounds and of course floor and yard space available at the Byla shack.
