Trip Report - Mano |

After waiting for two hours in vain for Mike at the rendezvous point, Ed and I drove up the narrow dirt road to the Connecticut border from Egremont, Massachusetts. The road had been amazingly well plowed, and we had no trouble reaching the state line. However, having been misled by some bad directions, we walked a further two miles up the snowy road in search of the elusive "state line". We realized our mistake after returning to the car, and started out on the right trail this time. Towards the end the trail became quite steep over icy, snowy rocks where the footing was tricky. I gave up about a tenth of a mile from the summit. Ed pushed on to the summit and the further distance onto the Connecticut high point on the far side. Another successful day despite the setbacks! |
