NVHC High-50 Summiters Ed Brimberg and friends
Date and Time December 30, 1998 12:40 PM
Weather 10 F
Conditions 3-5 inch snow on the ground
Today at 12;40pm Roger, Debbie, Cody (their 3 year old Sheltie dog) and I completed Backbone Mtn in MD, 3360 feet, the highest point in MD. We actually started in WVA. We had to hike about 1.25 miles uphill with about 300-400 feet elevation gain in 3-5 inches of snow with the temperature about 10 degrees. It felt like we were climbing Mt. McKinley. At the top there was a mailbox with certificates waiting. Also a brouchure on the Highpointers Club.
