Jordanelle Reservoir

Welcome to Jordanelle State Park

Jordanelle State Park is the newest reservoir in Utah. Building started back in the mid 80's and was filled in 1994. It has in it Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, White Fish, and just recently been told and found Largemouth Bass and Yellow Perch (pulled Yellow Perch out personally). Use trolling methods, power bait, worms, jigs, and artificail flies on this body of water. I pulled out a 2 lb. 3 oz. Smallmouth on a chartreuse jig tipped with corn flavored power bait. Also caught a Smallmouth on an olive leech/woolly bugger trailed behind a clear bubble filled with water on a spinning outfit. The dam was built on the Provo River above Heber City. Below Heber is Deer Creek Reservoir and below that is the part of the river that flows through the Provo Canyon. This reservoir usually doesn't freeze during the winter. Only at the inlet. So winter angling at Jordanelle can take on both ice fishing and boats. There are two state parks situated on the banks of the reservoir. Rock Cliffe which is located near the inlet and Hailstone on the west bank. Small float tubes can be launched at Rock Cliffe and larger boats and PWC's can be launched at Hailstone. Jordanelle Inlet at Dusk There is a trail that leads all around the reservoir for those who like to hike and walk. The State Park is quite modern and has many amenities such as hot water, flushing toilets, a store, and docks. It is located on US 40 between Heber and Park City. Other attractions nearby is the Heber Valley Railroad, Park City Silver Mine, and The old Union Pacific Railway State Trail. Short distance away is Wastatch Mountain State Park and the Uinta Mountains accessed through Kamas. Strawberry Reservoir is only half an hour away from Heber farther sown US 40.
