From Derwent Grange to Consett

Not much of a photo perhaps, but anyone who Knew the steelworks will appreciate the impact that it had on this area. The slag heaps, furnaces, cooling towers and mills, covered the horizon in the picture. Much of it now lies covered beneath the grassy slopes, still oozing its chemical bequest in a few places.
