Its been a while since I last did any major update on these pages. I finally finished on scanning in all the photos of good quality that I have on the berg and have over 300 high quality images. I also have a good few photos from patagonia, and those interested should check out the patagonian section for the latest updates there.

The photos have proved a big hit and I'm proud to say that this is the most popular non commercial berg site on the net. Thanks to all those people who have mailed me with thoughts, questions or info, its great to see the interest. For all of you, I've put a couple of wallpapers on the web. Feel free to check them out and download them. Its good to see some entries in the guestbook too. Thanks to those who have signed there.
As with emails, a lot of people seem to wonder who I am. I have delibrately not given my name anywhere on this site. This site is about the berg first and foremost. The section about my travels was simply a record for my friends to keep track of my adventures. It is not another site broadcasting one self absorbed soul's achievements to the world. The web is too full of those already. So if you do want to contact me and are troubled by my lack of a real name, simply call me fly and mail away. I do answer most mails i get (or at least try to)

On a related note, I have been playing with Linux and now have a decent internet connection. I am thinking of hosting this site locally. Download times will increase a bit, but there are two features that will tempt me. Firstly I could then include my entire section of photo's online (more than 500 shots) for everyone to see, and secondly I could run a discussion forum where people can add information of what they have done and vastly increase the usefulness of this site. I'm interested to know what others think and if anyone feels this would be worth the longer download times.

FREE STUFF

One day I got bored while working in photo shop at home, so put together a couple of wallpaper images for fun. I thought that some of you might like them, so here they are

In case no one ever got round to telling you, its a lot easier to view BMP files as wallpaper, but the web only supports JPG's. So save these to your hard disk, convert them to BMP format, and then select them as the wallpaper.
