A passion of mine is flyfishing monster trout. These 4 hogs were among 28 I landed the same day! They were all plump 17 to 25" and 4 to 7 lbs. Some of the prettiest cuts and bows I've laid eyes on.
This is one of the prettiest hooked-jawed males I've ever seen. Needless to say his replica is proudly hanging on my wall. I took a couple measurements and released him to the cold lake waters to get even bigger!
This bow looks more like a giant steelhead than rainbow. As you can tell by my buddies ear to ear grin, he was thrilled! We are commited to "catch and release" flyfishing and release all fish unharmed to the crystal clear lakes and streams. A couple great photos and they're on their way!
I consider myself a trophy brookie "hunter". I've spent years researching and hiking to big brookie hangouts in high alpine lakes. Giant 15 to 22" brook trout are hard to come by...also tough to catch! The hooked-jawed male above was 20" long and about 4 1/2 lbs. I am still searching for one that drags the tape past the 22" mark!
About the only way I've taken my fishing buddies to these secret brookie hotspots is blindfolded...and they promise never to whisper any of the details to wondering ears. My buddy landed this "average" 18" female from "Lucky Lake".
