The units marked with an asterisk(*) were units which were assigned to garrison duty and did not see actual combat. However, some units doing garrison duty were companies of Battalions who saw combat and therefore are not asterisked.(ie; The 65th Mount Royal Rifles garrisoned 6 posts including Fort Normandeau between Calgary and Edmonton and also fought at Frenchman's Butte and in the Pursuit of Big Bear.)
