Abert Rim

Abert Lake: This lake is the terminus of the river that runs from Paisley, Oregon, South. It is an alkaline lake and is populated mostly by brine shrimp. It smells really bad of dead fish.

Abert Rim: This rim is a remarkable geologic feature of southern Oregon. Located North of Lake View, Oregon on U.S. Highway 395, it towers overhead with colors of brown, green, and grey. Seen from the air, the top of the rim is covered with sage and Indian mounds, which are the remains of their homes. The Indians hunted the region and collected brine shrimp and fly larvae from the edge of the lake. The horses seen here are at the extreme Eastern edge of the lake in the alkali flats and marshes.
