Knots for Eye-Hooks

Uni / Grinner Knot Closed loop knot for lines above 40 lbs.
Suitable knot for attaching to hooks or lures for heavier lines. A minimum of  3 wraps for heaviest line is recommended and increase wraps accordingly for a lighter line.

Seven-Turn Half Blood Knot Closed loop knot for lines below 40 lbs.
One of the most commonly used knot, simple and strong. This knot is recommended for lighter lines as using this knot for heavier lines will create a deformed mainline.

Knots for Spade End Hook

Common Snell Spade end knot for lines below 30 lbs.
This is originally meant for spade end hooks but it has also been commonly used for eye-hooks as this knot makes the mainline aligned/parallel with the hook's shank, great if you are tying multiple hooks using the blood-dropper knot.

Knots for Lures

Harrisson Loop Swinging / Open Loop For Lures
This is a great knot for lures which will give it a natural swimming action.

Knots for Swivels

Cats Paw Knot For most line weights
A very simple but successful knot. Easily tied even in the dark or on a rocking boat. It even looks good.

Dropper Knot

Blood Dropper Knot For all line weights
This dropper knot is used by both recreational and commercial fisherman. Good for tying single or multiple hooks and for bait jigging.

Knots for Line to Line

Double Blood Knot For lines that are the same diameter
A minumum of three wraps on each side is recommended, the smaller the diameter the more wraps. This knot if neatly tugged/tied runs freely thru the guide.

Shock Leader Knot For tying heavier lines to lighter lines.
Good for tying leaders or joing of mainlines. This knot is also commonly used for fly fishing tippets.

Other Knot

Hangman's Noose Closed loop knot for lines below 40 lbs.
This knot is useful for many kinds of application. It can be used for tying a hook, swivel, sinker and anything that requires closing knot as the loop closes tighter as the mainline is pull harder. Also useful for live bait fishing with a ballon. See "Rigs"
