Greenlough 3-17 Drum 2-5
Our seniors made the best possible
start to the season under new manager Raymond Graffon with a 14 point win
over Drum.
Greenlough were on top for most of the match but Drum were first to score,
with a point from Owen Farren in the 8th minute. From the kick-out sean
Mullan and Adrian Kearney set up Aidan McPeake for our first point. Two
minutes later Kearney and Terence Birt put Owen O'Neill in for a goal.
Garrett O'Neill then shot over his first point and a minute later Donal
Madden had our third point.
Drum scored their second point on 17 minuites by Owen Farren again. With
ten minutes to the interval, Birt fisted over a point and James Lynn scored
goal Number two after a free by Paddy O'Neill. In the 22nd minute Aidan
McPeake scored his second point and from the poor kickout, Sean Mullan
added point no.6. Tommy Doherty then scored his first league point for
the club.
Three further points , Birt(2) and Garrett left the half-time score Greenlough
2-10, Drum 0-2.
We had a very positive start to the second half with three Garrett O'Neill
points in the first ten minutes. Drum scored their third point in the 11th
minute. James Lynn, Birt and Kearney added further points before Drum had
their fourth point.
As Greenlough eased off Drum scored two goals in the 23rd and 27th minutes
and then a point, but Sean Mullan had the last say with our 3rd goal in
the 28th minute after a great move.
Best for Greenlough were Dominic Lynn, Adrain O'Neill, Paddy O'Neill, and Terence Birt. Moyola Glass Man of the Match: Brendan Henry.
