Greenlough 1-14 Slaughtmanus 2-4

The seniors got over their shock defeat by Doire Colmcille last week with a good win over Slaughtmanus on Easter Tuesday.

Slaughtmanus were first to score with a point after 30 seconds, but we were back level two minutes later with a point from Adrian (Ned) O'Neill, and on 5 minutes were ahead with a point from Paul O'Neill after good work from Donal Madden. Garrett O'Neill streched our lead with three points in the 6th, 8th, and 16th minutes.

With 10 minutes to the break, a poor clearance by the visitors was seized on by full forward Adrian Kearney for the only goal of the match for the 'lough. Four more points, two each for Garrett and Ned O'Neillleft the half-time score: Greenlough 1-9, Slaughtmanus 0-2.

Greenlough opened the scoring in the second half with a point from Leo Madden after a great move involving Garrett and Paddy O'Neill and Mark Henry. Slaughtmanus hit back with two goals in two minutes. Garrett O'Neill settled our nerves again with two points, the second from a 45. Leo Madden added point 13 before Vincent McDonnell pulled off a great save at the expense of a point. Greenlough reserves had their first defeat of the season when a bad decision by the ref resulted in a penalty for Slaughtmanus which killed off a spirited Greenlough revival. Final Score:
