The clubs seniors continued their
good form with a convincing win against Moneymore
Garrett O'Neill started the scoring with three fine scores from free kicks,
then Terry Birt scored our first point from play after a good move involving
three other players. Moneymore came well back into the game with a well
taken goal. It was at this point that full-back Brendan Henry got sent-off
after a foul. Further points from James Lynn, Leo Madden, Adrian Kearney
and Garrett O'Neill streched our lead further. The visitors then scored
two points from frees.
In the last 10 minutes Greenlough added another 4 points, two from Leo
Madden and one from both Garrett O'Neill and James Lynn to leave the score
at half time: Greenlough 0-12 Moneymore 1-3.
In the first minute of the second
half Garrett scored the clubs 13th point, and Kearney added point 14 after
good work from Mullan. Moneymore then scored two points in the 5th and
7th minutes. In the 10th minute a high ball into the edge of the square
was knocked down by James McFaul to Sean Mullan who found the back of the
net. Garrett and Paddy O'Neill scored another two points before Moneymore
scored their second goal. Garrett scored two more points from frees in
the 17th and 19th minutes.
Moneymore were awarded a penalty in the 21st minute but the shot went wide,
from the following kickout the ball went up the field and a Sean Mullan
shot was misjudged by the keeper and it ended up in the net for our second
goal. Moneymore scored 3 more points before Garrett o'Neill had the last
point of the game, set up by James McFaul.
FINAL SCORE: GREENLOUGH 2-19 MONEYMORE 2-8.
