![]() | This is the way into the slalom course from the river. You will be able to ride straight over the WEIR in the canoe, down the slope behind (the weir is hiding the slope in this shot) and on to the FORD. About one quarter of a cubic metre will flow over this weir every second. |
![]() | This is the slope downstream of the weir. Riding down the SLOPE, you will reach the stilling area upstream of the ford. Passing over the FORD, you will reach POOL A (which is the top pool in the gravity system). The deep area to the right in pool A is the plunge pool, so called because this is where water from the pumped system plunges into the gravity system and gives a powerful boost of over 3 cubic metres per second to the flow, generating plenty of turbulence to test even the most accomplished adventurer! |
![]() | Travel from the FORD across POOL A to the far side and take the channel down to pool B. Taken a few days after the two above, this shot shows the view from the ford to pool A, which has now been partly filled giving you more idea of what it will be like. |
![]() | Leaving POOL A for the ride down to Pool B. |
![]() | Riding down to POOL B. In this channel, obstacles will be fixed to the runners in the floor - just to make things a bit tricky!
