Here is the information and entry details for the 1999 event:
SATURDAY 20th MARCH
A non-competitive walk for teams of Cub Scouts, together with a responsible adult in the heart of beautiful Cannock Chase. The 5 mile route is away from roads, along paths and tracks. The walk will start from 10.00 HRS and teams must complete the course by 16.00 HRS. This is a team event and walkers must keep together as a team.
There will be an entry fee of £3.00 per walker which will include:-
ENTRIES
When all entries are received a final Registration Form will be issued for completion and handing in at registration on the day of the walk. (You will NOT be allowed to walk without the completed form). The form MUST be signed by the Group Scout Leader. You will also receive all the information you will require for the walk, including starting time, route and checkpoint locations.
Numbers WILL be limited. Entries Must be received by 31st December 1998.
Please do not leave your entry until the last minute. First come first served.

The Rules
1a Entries must be made on official entry forms (photocopies allowed) together with the appropriate entry fee which is not returnable. 1b Entries must be from TEAMS of 4 to 7 including a minimum of 1 Responsible Adult aged 18 or over (The TEAM LEADER). 1c The Team Leader must be named and MUST be registered with the Group. 1d Entries will be closed when the maximum number of walkers is reached or on 31st December, whichever is the sooner. 2 Each team will be issued with a walk card at registration. This must be carried BY THE TEAM LEADER and produced at each checkpoint. 3 Teams must keep together at all times. 4 Entrants MUST: 5a Walking boots or strong footwear in good order and giving adequate grip and support, MUST be worn at ALL TIMES. (NO WELLINGTONS, NO PUMPS). 5b RECOMMENDED PERSONAL equipment to be worn or carried BY EACH ENTRANT: 6 Each TEAM LEADER must carry: 7 It will be the responsibility of the TEAM LEADER to ensure that the above rules and recommendations are adhered to. IF THERE ARE ANY QUERIES PLEASE CONTACT THE ORGANISER PRIOR TO THE EVENT. 8 Acceptance of all applications will be at the discretion of the organisers. On completing the registration form, all entrants agree to accept the rules and conditions governing the event. The rules may be changed if it is necessary in the interests of safety. 9 ALL Registration forms must be signed by the Group Scout Leader. TEAMS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO START WITHOUT THIS SIGNATURE. 10 The organisers accept no responsibility whatsoever for any accident, injury or loss of property incurred during the weekend of the event.
