Copper's Curly

We've Come A Long Way!

I am a registered Half-Bashkir Curly Horse born April 7, 1997.
The photo above is after I had a bath and my hair afro'ed.
My mane is naturally very curly and when combed, it will friz out.
Not the coolest thing for a horse!
I was acquired him in December 1998 as a young stud colt with no manners.
The plan was to break me to be a nice driving horse.
I was a snorting, biting, and kicking juvenile until I was gelded in Feburary of 1999.
Below is a photo of the very first that I wore a bridle or harness.

I finally got to learn how to pull a cart, and to tell you the truth, I love it! This is a photo of the man that started me with this. He has trained Standardbred Harness Racing Horses all his life, and he sure knows how to be kind and teach horses calmess and willingness.

Below is photos taken of me this year. The before and after of the trace clip. They feel I need this, however Curly's are not to be clipped, but living here on this desert, it is just very hot to carry such a heavy coat, even in the winter, so I get this pretty haircut so I can strut around pulling the carts that my people got just for me.
