Junior Troop 331

We have 10 girls, all of us in 4th or 5th grade. About half of us have been together since we were Daisies. We like crafts, hiking, camping, swimming, ice-skating, and reading. We just got done selling cookies. We plan to use the money to go camping this summer. We have also been busy working on a few badges. We will be reading to preschool children at the library next week.

Nebraska is mostly farmland (corn & soybeans) and we also have a lot of ranches. If you look on a map, you will see how few towns there are here. But none of us live on a farm. We all live in an area called "Little Italy" because Italian immigrants built it a century ago and many of the houses, churches, and markets look just like the ones in Italy. There is also a lotof Native American (Indian) culture here. Nebraska comes from the Oto Indian word for "flat water". And Nebraska is very flat. No mountains here!
