Kaikoura Coast We travel on the highway Between earth and sea and sky, The sun sets behind the mountains, As we pass them by. It lights up the waves As they crash on the shore These are the things that whisper, "There is something more". The golden green of rolling hills, When the sun is nearly down The gum trees, the pine trees, And bare bits of brown The clear blue dusking sky And the shadows growing long, Creation paints a picture, And the picture is a song. It is a song, it is a land, It is a sea, it is a shore, It's the longing in our hearts that whispers, "There is something more" A lamb shakes its head As grass tickles its nose, A seagull floats across the sky, And its body glows. The sun is down, and clouds glow orange and pink, These are the things that cause our hearts to think. To think, to wish, to long, To cry out for a fitting song, This is too sweet, it is not sweet enough. It kind of makes you think, about God and stuff. So listen to the waves As they beat upon the shore. These are the things that whisper, "There is something more." Hamlet New Zealand
Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken Gazing out over the sea, the old woman stood, Still, silent, lost in thought about her life, And the love that she had lost. She remembered his height, and the way His hair fell over his eyes. Eyes as deep And warm as the lake they used to swim in. A tear runs down her cheek. She reaches up to brush it away, and feels the memory of his gentle touch, light and loving. She closes her eyes and concentrates on the lake, and goes back, in her mind, to those summer sunsets on the bank. She sees herself, young, in love, reaching for his hand and gazing at the stars in that endless night sky. Hears her voice, those words, her soft, tender tone. And then flashes to the day he left, and his words, so long ago spoken, "You may have captured my soul, love, but wild hearts will never be broken. Sami Kodiak, Alaska
Song for a Friend When we kissed on the footbridge that night I loved to hear your breath quicken And to taste you on my lips. I loved to feel your arms around me When I shivered, And to feel your head on my chest. By the calm of the lake and the light of the moon Embraced, I learnt that I wanted "us" More than any other thing. The wind was blunted by your caress, And I could have spent the whole night in your arms, I would have spent the whole night like this. When I lay awake that night I longed to hear your breath quicken And to taste you on my lips. I longed to feel your arms around me, And the warmth of your body lying next to mine. Peaceful. In the darkness of my room The words I longed to write, to yell, to say to you The cold of sleep was chased by your memory, And I could have, would have, spent the night in your arms. My Gaze As I gaze into you eyes As I gaze upon your soul I see you through the disguse When I see you, you are whole As I gaze, I see your hidden fear As I gaze your emotions come to me The thoughts that you hold dear To you in your soul this I shall see As I gaze you realise what I feel As I gaze you see the love in me In reality, my love for you is real In my dreams, you are here with me As I gaze I lose myself in your eyes As I gaze I am learning, no words spoken I learn more of you, there is no more lies We are two souls that love as only one can... NO - WIN Spoken by child: She loves me She loves me not She loves me She loves me not. Song Begins: Beside me an empty space once filled by your face. Lying here in a no-win situation a catch 22 with an ounce of frustration. The sad truth of my reality is the fact that you toy with me. If I let go your on your own There's a future that remains unkown. If I stay by your side I may never get off this ride. One minute you love me and kiss my lips the next minute you say you don't and the tables, flip. Chorus: I don't wanna be a what if kinda guy but the more I try the more you mystify you say you need your time but your running back and forth would you please make up your mind for what it is worth. I'm half the man you used to see but that's half the man he'll ever be. You see the signs or so you say but you're in his arms the very next day. The things he does that are fun and new are the things I offered but you would never do. Though solemn and calm within my voice pain and saddness I take as your choice. I'm not good enough to receive respect instead you treat me like a heretic. Treason to the broken crown resting on your head you're the one with problems but I pay instead. (Chorus) -Spoken Verse backed by music- I held on to things that were not true they made me feel that I needed you. But now the truth has set me free no doubt soon a better man I'll be We lost it all but that's ok never really existed anyway. Beside me an empty space no longer filled by your face Lying here laughing at this situation as I feel calm no more frustration! Tetu' Wasilla, Alaska
