McClelland Camping Competition ' 99 |
What is the McClelland camping competition? The McClelland camping competition is the unlimate inter troop competition held in the Cape Eastern Area. Only standing patrols are elagable for the much sought after trophy. Composit patrols are allowed to enter, as this gives the young patrols a unique learning experiance. The camp is extremely taxing on all members of the patrols as they have to try to build an campsite in about 48 hours. So you can understand as to why some of the senior patrol members stay awake untill the very early hours in the morning trying to erect their campsite. Another added benefit of the competition is that the patrols are able to learn better camping skills from the more stronger patrols. |
