A Little About the Author of this Page

I started a Scouting tradition in my family in 1978 by joining Cub Scouts at Pack 33, St John's Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, PA.  I worked my way up through the ranks up to Weblos earning all activity pins and the Arrow of light.  I then crossed over into Troop 33, same location.

It was in Troop 33 that I met the man that helped make me the Scouter I am today.  William Bonn was a Marine with a special love for Scouting.  The Troop really meant a lot to this man.  He unselfishly gave of his time and knowledge.  Under his leadership, countless boys obtained the rank of Eagle.

I earned the rank of Eagle Scout and ten palms.  I served as an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 33 for ten years holding various other positions.

In 1997, I attended Scoutmastership Fundamentals Training.  It was here that I was asked to help with one of the Urban Emphasis Troops in my Council.  Before I knew it, I was Scoutmaster.  In April of 1998, I became Scoutmaster of Troop 305, Exeter, PA.

Urban Emphasis has been renamed to Scoutreach to help overcome some of the negative connotations associated with housing projects.  The new name, along with a continued interest will help these units grow.

I attended NE-IV-101 and was a member of the SIlver Fox Patrol.  This website is part of my ticket.  I am trying to spread the word of Scoutreach and get additional information that might help myself and others.  This is an on-going project that will require input from many sources.

In addition to being Scoutmaster, I am also the Boy Scout Roundtable Commisioner and Boy Scout Training Chairperson of Mountain Laurel District, Northeast Pennsylvania Council.  I have run and assisted in First Aid Meets, Camporees, Scout-O-Rama, Train the Traianer Staff and Scoutmaster of Scoutmastership Fundamentals 2000.

Through the paste few years, I have learned many valuable lessons.  The most important being that the most important part of Scouting is the boys.  The focus must always stay on the youth!
