Lighthorse Rugby- 2000 Spring Season

                    It’s that time again for another great old boy season.  This season we have three matches scheduled.  As in seasons past, I am sure everyone is in great shape.  Last season we went 2-0 defeating Wilmington Old Boys and Media Old Boys.   Since there aren't that many old boy teams around to play, we usually end up playing the same teams every season. This season, however, we are going to add Lehigh Valley to our schedule.  That will be a ROAD TRIP on MAY 13. They are about one hour away.  Let's try to get as many f'ing old f---s out to this one as we can.

       I have also acquired 6 brand spanking new jerseys due to the generous donations of about 15 guys.  If more of the old boys who said they were going to donate to the jersey fund did, we could have all 15 jerseys by now.   So, for those of you who might have forgotten how to write out a check, now would be a good time to start practicing.  I don’t think it’s too much to ask. We don’t charge team dues - just 5 bucks for each game for miscellaneous expenses.

       It was great to see some of the really, really old boys out for a game or 2 last season.  BABS, MURPH, KITEMAN, SKUNK, DUGAN, MULSY AND EVEN DICK HARDT (before he dicks you) made it out and played better than most of the younger old boys.  Let's get more of a mix out there.  Reach out and touch someone (besides chicks at the strip joint) and get them back out to the most electrifying game in sports.  It would be great to see the likes of DOLS, STRIKER, GONNIE, KEITH+MARK, LUKE, THE DEVINES, BROWNIE, DAULPH, DAN RYAN, BILLY O’KEEFE, SHAIKO, PAUL MAGEE, CHRIS MANNION, BUNZO, GEORGE CONNELL, TOM HENNELLY, JOEY GROSS, FRANK HAGAN, GINO and anyone else I might have forgotten.  All of these former players received a letter, so get together and come out for a game or two.  It doesn't matter if you play or watch - just come out and enjoy the game you loved to play.

Okay bums, time to start running!!! There will only be two matches this season due to the lack of players that we had for last season's five matches. We're still trying to order team jerseys but with only $250 in the kitty, we can only order 5 (or 1 for Meats). So those of you who didn't buck up last season, please mail your jersey donation ASAP.

Remember that if everyone called one old boy or ex-rugger, we would have plenty of players. The two teams scheduled this season, Wilmington and Media, will be very tough. Wilmington won the Over 40 Division in Saranac Lake this past summer and Media has beaten us the last two seasons.
