Part 1: My speech
Part 2: Politics
Part 1 (My first political speech):
Yes, that's right.... All of my political thoughts that many of you have endured and argued with me over have been unleashed upon the unsuspecting populace and not a moment too soon. Well, actually I gave a 5 minute speech that I wrote to a very friendly crowd of Veterans in Bristol, PA.
We're 1 week away from the most important election in our country's recent history and I was out stumping for a Democratic Congressman in front of a group of Veterans in Bucks County, PA. I put up some pictures in my pics thing or whatever from that speech. Some higher quality ones will be coming soon... (one of my pics at the bottom....)
Part 2 (Politics):
So......
Will the proletariat overthrow the bourgeois and take control of the means of production?
Will the constitution be changed to allow a total theocracy imposing God's law upon the land?
Will we stand up for the rights of the CEO's whose golden parachutes weren't quite big enough, a constantly under served minority of our country? (BTW, I think they were all Republicans if I had to guess.....)
Will the old guy kick the bucket and the crazy lady takes over?
Well, I doubt any of those will occur, so don't get your panties in a ruffle.
I delivered a good speech about the GI Bill and Congressman Murphy's work in drafting it. In case you are not in the military or are in the military and ignorant, a new GI Bill was proposed and passed with overwhelming Democratic and Republican support in both the House and Senate. It will give anybody who served for 3+ years in the military after 9/11/01 full tuition up to the level of the most expensive school in their state and a monthly living stipend equal to the E5 with dependents rate for their school's zip code. Congressman Murphy (D)PA-8th, my congressman, and the guy in the pic with me, was one of the main sponsors in the House of Representatives that made this wonderful benefit a reality for all of us who have served whether it was just stateside or somewhere shitty like Iraq.
I would also like to point out that 75 Senators voted for the GI Bill, which was ALL of the Democrats (including Obama & Biden) and the MAJORITY of Republicans. There was one certain senior Arizona Senator who was opposed to the new GI Bill, saying that it would "hurt retention." I guess it was too good for us lowly military people. He then didn't even have the balls to show up and go on record voting against it. When he crossed that line, it went from me disagreeing with his policies to being personal as he wanted to fuck over me and all of my friends who have served and are trying to get an education. I hope you guys remember who stuck up for vets and who pretends to stick up for vets next week at the polls. If you think I am lying, view the Senate roll call showing Obama and Biden voting YEA and McCain not showing up:
