Mt. Logan.
The highest mountain in Canada.

This page I specially made in honor to my daughter Linda. My wife and I are very proud of our two children. Linda is just like my self, very determined and never gives up.

Mount Logan is Canada's highest mountain, and North America's second highest mountain. Located in the St. Elais Mountain Range in Yukon, It stands at 5,950 m, close to 20,000 feet and is the world's largest massif (that means, if you were to put Mt. Logan in a bathtub full of water it would displace more water than any other mountain). Mt. Logan is also growing! Every year, due to geological movement within the earth, the mountain actually gets higher. Many mountaineering parties travel to this area in spring and enjoy either skiing, snow shoeing or climbing.

The King Trench route up to the summit of Mt. Logan is the easiest route, as it generally does not involve any technical climbing. The mountain can be fierce, brewing up north coastal snow and windstorms that can keep party's tent bound for days or even shred tents to pieces.

When we journeyed on Mt. Logan the mountain gods were gracious and provided us weather and snow conditions that allowed all but 1 of our party to summit. Here are some pictures of our journey.

Andy our pilot flies us in from Kluane Lake in Yukon. Here we are unloading 21 days worth of gear & grub on the Quintino Sella Glacier, the starting point of our attempt to summit Mt. Logan, Canada's highest peak

The final assent to the peak of Mt. Logan at 5,950 m. Travel was slow due to thin air and lack of oxygen. However sitting on top of Canada's highest peak and looking out at the never-ending mountains was exhilarating!
