CAMP LEJEUNE,NC - 2008

A photo of me and some of Dad's Marine buddies !!!!

Hi.... My name is Terry and I am the second born son of Joan and Bernard Williamson.... Everyone in the family had a home page except me.... My older brother Glenn has his own home page as does my younger brother Lee....

Check them out:

I had to get some help with my page as I was born with Down's Syndrome, which sort of slows down the process somewhat !!!! But I don't let it slow down my life.... I work five days a week at VARCA, a sheltered workshop here in Derby, CT.... VARCA is short for Valley Association of Retarded Children and Adults

In addition to providing work, VARCA is also the center of my social life.... We have dinner-dances just about every month as well as field trips to places of interest to us all....

Outside of VARCA, I have travelled quite a bit with Joan and Bernie, my parents.... I have been in all 50 states as well as on a cruise to Caracas, Venezuela and in February 2004, I was on another cruise to the Western Caribbean....

So you see, I don't miss out on too much....

In fact, my parents and I flew out to Omaha, Nebraska in May 2000 to attend the high school graduation of my nephew, Glenn Patrick Williamson Jr.... There were over 200 students that graduated with Glenn.... We don't have 200 students in our high school in Derby !!!!

We returned to Derby in time to commemorate Memorial Day.... Both of my brothers are Veterans, having served with the U.S.Air Force.... My Dad served with the U.S.Marine Corps, so veteran issues are well covered in my house !!!!

Hi Again.... Just wanted to let you know that on September 9, 2000 my parents and I completed an American Volksport Association(AVA) walk in Newport Beach, California.... Big Deal ???? You bet !!!! That marks my 49th state in which I have participated in a sanctioned AVA walk.... My parents have already completed their 50 State Walk Program and I need one more state to get my certificate.... Kentucky....

Hurray and Halleluia.... I finally completed my Fifty State Program on July 22, 2001 with a walk in Louisville, KY.... My Mom and Dad walked with me and we had a great time visiting the Louisville Slugger Museum which was on the trail.... They even gave me a miniature bat.... After the walk we had a party....

Bob McDougal, Connecticut Valley Volksport Club President presented Terry
with his 50 State Certificate in December 2001...

2005 was a big year for our family as we all went for a Caribbean Cruise aboard the M/S Zuiderdam of the Holland American Line.... We all had a great time and I spent most of the time in the pool or on the beach with my brothers.... For some photos of the cruise and my other trips, go to this link

My travels continued in 2006 as Mom, Dad and I went on a 14 day cruise through the Caribbean.... We also went to Trista's graduation in Omaha and took a tour of the Southwest later in the year.... In 2007 we went out to see my Aunt Anne in Massillon and a bunch of my cousins before heading to South Bend, IN and a lakeside visit with Aunt Lois....

We started out 2008 with a BANG and I mean that literally as we went to Camp Lejeune, NC for Dad's 2nd Marine Division Association reunion....

Also in 2008, my Mom,Dad and took a rail and cruise tour of Alaska.... What a great trip as we flew to Anchorage.... Took a train to Fairbanks and flew back to Seward where we boarded our cruise ship, the Volendam.... Three different modes of travel....

Lee and I found this Scooby-Do machine in Derby !!!!

Here is a picture of Scobby and Friends

...How do you like the music ???? The Flintstones are another one of my favorite cartoon families.... That's about it for now.... I will be back later, so keep checking this page to see what I have been doing....
