Some Of Our Nastier Attractions

Amid the beauty of our favourite pastime, we unfortunately have several not so friendly inhabitants. Jellyfish, Boilers, corals, octopuses, cone shells, fish, eels, sea snakes and of course the infamous shark. Many of these can cause severe reactions and even death if not treated quickly. A knowledge of basic first aid can often sustain life till medical attention arrives.

Blue Ringed Octopus....can cause death even though the bite is relatively painless. The bite may go unnoticed till the area becomes pale, then red and swollen. The face and mouth become numb and the body weak. Urgent medical attention should be sought.
