Stopping by a Bar on a Snowy Evening
A Parody of "Robert Frost's "Stopping by a Wood on a Snowy Evening"

When we were in grade school, my brother and I were required to memorize Robert Frost's great poem. To this day, nearly 2 decades later, we both remember the original. While in college, my brother developed this parody. If you aren't familiar with the original, I strongly recommend you click on the link above to take a look at it. Otherwise, my brother's version won't make any sense.

Whose beer this is I think I know.
He is in the restroom though;
He will not see me take his drink
If I am quick and keep it low.

The barmaid has to think it queer
To see this beverage now appear.
She has not taken my request
Yet here I sit with lager beer.

She gives my elbow quite a shake
And asks if there is some mistake.
For now the man beside me claims
His beer some lousy fool did take.

The world is cruel, dark and deep,
Admitting words I did not peep.
Life is kind when you are cheap.
Life is kind when you are cheap.
