There is no way to cover the complete spectrum of bodywork and painting on a few web pages devoted to restoring a 1966 Dodge Charger. Entire books have been written on the subjects and they still leave out something that is pertinent to someone else's project.
But I can point out a lot of things that made a difference to me.
In the area of bodywork, primers, paint, and how to handle rust, I have found so many shops and pro's that just don't really know what they are talking about. It's been a real eye opener for me the number of people in the automotive refinishing industry that just have no clue on what methods, products, and materials that are available and that are out there today. My profession is NOT in the automotive or bodyworking industry. My ignoranace in this area and my listening to some of the so called experts cost me dearly in time, money, but most importantly, car parts that were needlessly screwed up.
