Relaxing on top of the Mountain
Whistler's Mountain:
Take the Jasper Tramway to the summit of
Whistler's Mountain and enjoy a scenic view like no other. At 2400
metres (7500 ft) above sea level, you'll be on top of the world.
We rode our Bikes up to the tramway. It was very steep and made for
a demanding ride. You can drive, jog or hike the trail to the
tramway as well. Open from March to the end of October.
Drive South of Jasper Townsite on Highway 93, turn at the Whistler's Campground
road. Note...the plant life is very fragle and because
of the cold climate, takes many years to mature. Some of the
plants in the pictures take over 30 years to mature and produce flowers.
The small pines near the tree line have taken fifty years to grow only
3-5 ft.
