Visitors to the island

Visitors to the island are very few are far between.  The changeover of staff is undertaken every 6 months, and at this time the new crew is accompanied by a team of 15 workers.  They install new equipment and carry out general maintenance on the island, as well as delivering fresh food supplies for the following 6 months.

The 2 photos below show the Lark coming out of the water.  This is used to relay the supplies from the ship, 'The pacific Conquest' anchored off the coral shelf on the horizon. The second photo contains the workers who visit for 3 days during the changeover.

We have been lucky so far that our satellite dish needed some maintenance work, so Telstra chartered a Dive boat from cairns to bring them out.  I took advantage of the visit and got of the island for a couple of days to go diving and fishing with the Dive instructors that run the company 'TUSA DIVE', and had one of the best days of my life!  the next two photos are 'TUSA lV' & The Telstra crew leaving.

At this stage there are no more planned visits to the island until we get picked up at the end of June, however if anyone would like to visit then the address is 150 degrees East, 15 degrees South.
