Rock Fishing - Kennet River |
Overview
-There are ample rock fishing spots located just out of the township of
Kennet River approximately two and a half hours from Melbourne, between
Lorne and Apollo Bay. The best of these spots are well hidden, about
a 1km walk along the beach and rocks from the township. Most spots
are only accessible on the low tide and by foot, but they can be dynamite
for fishing. Your best chance is to find one of the deep holes located
off the edge of the main outcrops of rock. To find these spots, find
an advantageous position where you can see down onto the water to locate
dark patches which generally represent deeper waters. The deep holes
are generally found to be most productive. For more information I
suggest you talk to some of the locals to get first hand knowledge.
