Klint's Eagle Project

Klint chose as his Eagle Project to re-build 2 garage doors on a property owned by the Presbyterian Church.

One of the to garages is used by the tenants of the building. The other is used as a storage room by the Church.

The original garage doors were in a very bad state of repair and were not savagable. This was a serious problem because the articles stored in these garages were subjected to water damage when winter storms blew through. The old doors could not keep the rain out nor could they keep the inside dry.

The Church officials were very concerned! When Klint offered to build new doors for the Church, they happily accepted.

He compeleted his project in July 1998.

Klint and friends raised money to pay for materials through a car wash

Many hands make light work.

These poor doors just gave out.

The wood was rotten; the weather stripping was just a memory and the springs were shot!

Measure! Cut! Nail! "Hey, did you say 8 feet or 7 feet?"

The doors are starting to look very good. With care anf skill they are perfectly square! Unfortunately, over the years, the old building settled and the opening for the doors was NOT square. This meant the doors had to be disassembled and reassembled so they would fit snugly.

Door opens. Door closes. Door opens. Door closes! "I think we're almost done.

This is the finished project! They look good and they work great!
