I'm going to be studying at UA-Fairbanks this summer and I have been trying in vain to find out if Fairbanks is far enough north to have daylight all day long in the summer ... nobody seems to have the info ... but you did. So yeah. I've always wanted to live close enough to the pole for that. Heh, but I think arctic winter would be totally awesome ... too bad I don't get to visit in January ^_^

It's a little different winter in Alaska than we're having here in Louisiana. The temperatures here haven't dropped below 30 degrees this winter that I can recall. As far as snow goes, we haven't even had a threat of snow here! Enjoy your winters while you can. Enjoyed your website too!

I am enjoying your site which I accessed from college where I am currently studying internet technology. I, too, enjoy writing, am married, a septuagenarian, involved in patchwork, photography,embroidery. My husband, Tony, trains and handles sheepdogs (border collies) and competes in sheepdog trials with them in addition to some work on farms. He has a workshop at home where he continues to use his skills as a cabinet maker. The two sheedogs are Mac and Meg; I have a border terrier, Mattie and there is also Daisy, the cat. as you will see i am originally from Fairbanks, well actually i was only born there i lived in Northway with my Mum and Dad but left when i was very young through a break down in my parents marriage.

Your page is lovely . . .
you have a wonderful eye for layout and the "latest column" made me
chuckle right out loud. Popped into Sept., Oct., Nov. and December and
found them delightful and a really neat idea. What I found a tremendous
lack of when searching for Alaska stuff on the web for a friend visiting
there her first time: Iditarod and the Midnight Sun Festival.
Actually I was looking for some "musings" as to what one actually does
when the day IS really longer (wanted to send it to folks who keep
wishing there were more hours in a day!). Of course if you listened to
me, I'd have you busy for the rest of your life telling Alaska stories
:-)
