DaDoo: someone who's trustworthy. Someone who would share the pain and the joy of everyday life and most importantly, can take a joke!(my middle name is known to be sarcasm)

CANINE: someone you can smack around and who will smack you around too. how else are you gonna keep each other in line?
muajee: A friend to rely on is like a shoulder to cry on." -- Cathy's saying :P well, a friend is someone whom you can rely on when needed; it's someone whom you can share joy and sorrow, happniess and sadness with; it's someone whom you can cry, laugh, and do something crazy together with; it's someone whom you not only can trust but also believe in you; it's someone who would stand by you and fight with you; it's someone who has seen both the ugly and the beautiful side of you, but still accept you as who you are; it's someone whose backgrounds your family would not mind as much as your bf/gf; it's somone who you are less worried to lose since friendship is the matter of life if you want it to be.
Bunnie: A friend is someone you can rely on when you're sad, someone you can talk to about everything under the sun and someone whom you can trust.
Michi: Anyone can stand by you when you are right, but a Friend will stand by you even when you are wrong...
What's your definition? I'll put it up here for you when you send me yours.

Simple Friends Vs Real Friends
A simple friend identifies himself when he calls.
A simple friend opens a conversation with a full news bulletin=20 on his life.
A simple friend thinks the problems you whine about are recent.
A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest
A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.

Friends Without Faces
We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens
We chat with each other, we type all our woes,
We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt,
Why is it on screen, we can be so bold.
The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.

A real friend doesn't have to.

A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.
A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means
With our mouse we roam, through out the rooms in a maze,
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.
Small groups we do form, and gang up on foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.
In ICQ we chat deeply, about why we hurt.
We do form friendships, but why we don't know
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.
The telling of secrets, that have never been told
Why is it we share, the thoughts in our minds
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the puter, and to those whom we trust.
Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains,
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.
