I Once Lived In Africa

I once lived in Africa
To teach, to make a positive difference.
I came to explore, be free, and do.
I came to work with a team
To build a unique school program.

I once lived in Africa
Africa, the land of a good river
The land of history
The land of exploration, conquest
But it remains.

I came with hope
For me
For a school
For a part of my life

I leave
Needing refreshment
Sucked dry
With nothing to give.

But I recall that
I once lived in Africa,
And OH
I saw so little,
But I drank of the wind.
