I Go Home
Timothy Hickman

I looked for my home,
Traveling around the world.
Searching towns, cities, villages and farms
Mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes;
I never found it.

I searched for home.
The place of safety, openness,
Honesty, love, and hugs.
I searched in academics, work, books and sports.
I never found it.

I longed for home.
I stumbled upon a town,
I felt safe, accepted,
Understood, needed, on purpose.
I found home.
